DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING SERVICES

Interventional radiology

Interventional radiology is a medical sub-specialty of radiology. It utilizes images generated by various imaging methods including CT Scans, Ultrasounds, and X-Ray Fluoroscopy for diagnostic purposes and for surgical navigation through the body.

Women’s Radiology

The doctors at Invictus Radiologists focus on holistic patient care and strive to offer the most cutting edge technology, techniques and procedures for women’s care. We currently offer all patients digital mammography, which is the latest technology in the fight against breast cancer.

General radiology

X-Rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.  X-Rays are most commonly used to see bone fractures or joint problems but can also be used to check the heart, lungs and other various organs.

Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy is a form of ‘live’ X-Ray that enables a radiologist to take images of the body’s internal organs via X-Ray, by using a contrast medium.  The contrast medium increases the visibility of the internal organs or a specific area of concern, as the radiologist watches on a screen.

Ultrasound

An Ultrasound assists in diagnostic evaluation and is often used to distinguish between fluid and solid, including variation of densities.  An ultrasound is a safe and painless procedure which uses reflected sound waves to obtain medical images of various tissues and organs in the body. There is no radiation involved.

Computerized Tomography

Computerized Tomography (CT or ‘CAT’ scan) is a safe, painless, and quick procedure used to obtain detailed images of the inside of the body.   As your body passes through the CT scanner, it takes specialized X-Ray images which are then processed by computers to generate and display detailed cross-sectional pictures.

MRI

MRI is a safe and painless diagnostic test that uses a strong magnet and radiofrequency waves to create detailed pictures of structures inside the body.  MRI does not use ionizing radiation (X-Ray). The pictures show soft tissue, muscles, nerves, discs, ligaments, etc.  MRI aids in early diagnosis of various illnesses and in planning treatment of injury and illness.
